Just moved to Houston.  Don't know where to run outdoors so I'm stuck on a treadmill.

 Walk 1 lap for warm-up

1 mile at 7:30 pace

1/2 mile at 6:30 pace

1 lap walk for rest

repeat mile and 1/2 mile pace

1 lap walk for rest

1 lap  6:00 pace

1 lap cool down

 Great work out!

Sorry you are stick on the treadmill!!! I hope you find some good places to run outside soon, but it is pretty hot there isn't it?

Welcome to this wonderful blog!

It's incredibly hot here. 109 with the heat index. I'm actually enjoying the speed work on the treadmill. I would love to do more miles but I suppose I need to go with what I've got!

That is definitely treadmill weather!!!

Treadmill speed work.

 20 laps

I won't bore you with super specifics

3 miles at 7:00 min pace run 1 mile at a time with 1 lap between to rest.  When I felt like it I ran 2 laps at 6:30 pace with a lap to rest.  It all added up to 20 laps and about 45 min of running.

Treadmill

Same workout as yesterday but increased speed to miles done at 6:30 pace and 2 laps intermixed at 6:15 pace.  Felt great!!

Jogged with the dog to the truck and felt sick.  Running on a treadmill watching a tv 1 ft. from my face for the past week has messed up some sort of equilibrium!!

Welcome to the site. We all have our days, though. I've also found that hitting the road after the treadmill is a world of hurt, but it'll make you an animal in a very short time.

So...after not being able to run outside for 3 weeks and now having gone for a couple runs of no significant distance during which I felt like I was beginning training all over, I've decided not to run my first 1/2 marathon in Spanish Fork this coming weekend.

A good friend of mine wants to run a 1/2 but isn't feeling ready yet.  We are going to train and find a 1/2 to run.  Anyone know of any cheap 1/2 marathons in Utah...closer to Provo?

Also, anyone want to add a runner to a running group or make a new one.  I run around an 8:00min mile on longer runs and can push myself like a true competitor.  I want to meet my goal but lack the support of other runners to go with.

I'm so glad you joined the blog! So are you in Dallas or Utah? I really wish you were still here...there is NO ONE to run with!!! Just be patient. It's hard when you have a break but it will come back faster than you think.
